Why Healthy Eating is Important for you?

Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle

Your food choices each day affect your health — how you feel today, tomorrow, and in the future.
Combined with physical activity, your diet can help you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer), and promote your overall health.

The life of a pilot, crew member and aircraft engineer is 'full on' and it's often hard to find nutritious, healthy and delicious food when you have limited time between your next flight. If you find yourself skipping meals during the day and having large, fast-food dinners, late at night, you're not alone. Many people who work in such a fast-paced environment have the same eating habits and nutritional concerns.

The Impact of Nutrition on Your Health

Stressful jobs, long hours and shift work can negatively impact on diet and fitness, but eating better and exercising more can aid sleep and boost energy levels. Solutions that encourage more healthful food choices should be a priority. What we eat is central to our health! Consider that in light of Webster's definition of medicine: "The science and art dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of disease."
While you're bound to slip up and have some bad days, the key is to get back on track and keep trying. Eventually, a healthy eating routine will become second nature. You don't need to become a gourmet chef, you just need to be mindful of what you fuel your body with and when!
