Peer Support Pilot Application


There is no specific time commitment you need to make, we simply ask that you help as much as you can and take up appointments, help support peers wherever you can. We are looking for experienced pilots  trained both internationally and locally, who understand the needs of the industry and individuals. 

Purpose

The purpose of this code is to provide a clear framework within which volunteers of the Pilot Peer Support program (including Directors, Pilots, Co-Pilots, Advisers and other volunteers) are expected to conduct themselves. The Peer Pilot Program strives to maintain a positive community in which honesty, integrity and respect for fellow volunteers and members of the support program are constantly reflected in personal behavior and standards of conduct.

Principles

The Pilot Peer Support program is a large organisation and its volunteers are expected to have regard for the impact of their personal behavior on members, corporate partners, professional institutions, colleagues, the environment and the community.
It is essential that all these stakeholders can have confidence that the Pilot Peer Support program maintains the highest standards of conduct in personal care and seeks to maintain high standards of probity and ethical behavior.
All volunteers are expected to ensure that decision making is open and fair and in conformity with the principles such as Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openness, Honesty and Leadership.

Standards of Personal Behaviour

One of the Pilot Peer Support program's core values is the promotion of inclusivity and valuing diversity. The Pilot Peer Support program seeks to ensure that the culture for its volunteers and members is supportive, and one where individual respect is shown to all. All volunteers and members, regardless of their gender, race, ethnic background, culture, (dis)ability, sexual orientation, age, religion, socio-economic status or any other factor will be supported and encouraged to perform to their potential.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform your job role to your highest skill levels
  • Promote the Pilot Peer Support program within your network 
  • Attend at least 50% of all appointments
  • Attend at least 50% of all training
